THE Fans Museum in Sunderland have organised a Fans Walk next month to raise awareness of prostate cancer and funds to support research into the disease.
Ron’s March, which is named after prostate cancer campaigner Ron Hedley and supported by a number of charity groups including Prostate Cancer UK and The Bob Willis Fund, will take place on Friday, October 4.
The walk will begin and end at the Fans Museum in Sunderland, with doors opening at 9am and the walk commencing at 10am.
There will be two different walks – the first follows a three-mile route, while the second is longer and covers a distance of six miles.

Former Sunderland players Gary Bennett and Mick Harford will be taking part in the walk, along with other special guests who will be announced in due course.
Bennett said: “We are doing another Fans Walk from the Fans Museum, and we’d like you all to get involved in any way possible, and we’d also like to thank you for all the support we’ve had.”
This year’s walk follows on from last year’s successful event, and further information can be found at www.fansmuseum.org
