We Are Sunderland's latest morning briefing is now available following Sunderland's humiliating 5-1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers on Easter Monday.
Having won for the first time in eight games on Good Friday with a polished performance against Cardiff City, Sunderland came crashing back down to earth against Blackburn with their heaviest defeat of the season.
John Eustace's side cruised to just their second win of 2024 and their first away win since November at the Stadium of Light with two goals from Sammie Szmodics, before second half strikes by Ryan Hedges, Tyrhys Dolan and Andrew Moran capped a significant result for the away side and an embarrassing afternoon for interim head coach Mike Dodds and his players.
Dodds vented his anger and frustration at full-time: "I'm angry. I'm really angry and trying to use my words correctly. It's a completely unacceptable performance for this football club."
But does this result mean Sunderland should look to accelerate their head coach plans? Where does this leave Dodds and his team ahead of a return to the Stadium of Light this weekend against Bristol City?
Matty Hewitt, Joe Ramage and Dom Shaw reflect on an afternoon to forget for Sunderland and where it went wrong against Blackburn as well as looking ahead to what comes next on Wearside.
